About Andrea.

My family and I lived on the Isle of Wight for 25 years but some years ago relocated to the New Forest where we have family connections. We also have a strong link to Cornwall, which plays an important part in my novels.

I graduated from Bath Academy of Art and then went on to gain a post-graduate certificate in Education, following which I taught for many years, both in primary and secondary education, including a year’s teaching English in India. As far back as I can remember I always yearned to write, but it wasn’t until I semi-retired that I began to write in earnest – starting with short stories, some of which won a place in a competition or were short-listed. But my debut novel, Lady Hartley’s Husbands, still grew inside my head until eventually I released it to the laptop.

I am a member of a writing group Wight Writers and contribute regularly to Wessex Writers’ e-magazine, The Voice.  My online membership of the Retreat West Community provides me with regular workshops to improve my writing skills. One of my short stories is published in Wight Writers’ anthology, In Black and Wight, and I have also illustrated a children’s poetry book, Word Gymnastics. My love of history has fuelled my passion for writing, as has my love of coastline and travel. All are also featured in the young adult historical trilogy I am completing.

Married to Richard, I enjoy family times with our three children and four grandchildren.
